Manan Bhatt & Aditya Balivada: Two terrific kids score two terrific tons in the Total Cup ‘17

Played at the Vengsarkar Academy, Oval Maidan, it was a match between two promising teams namely Sanjivani Cricket Academy and Chembur Gymkhana where in Sanjivani CA won the toss and elected to bat first considering that they have a good batting attack to make a big total and put the opposition under pressure.

Their decision to bat first was spot on as their opener Manan Bhatt made his bat do the talking. Manan who already proved his mettle with the bat in the DSO under 14 tournament with consistent performances made sure that the cricketing community does not forget him as this time he went on to score a blistering 128* off just 56balls. Manan took on the bowlers with pure dominance as he smashed 24boundaries while he also got an equally talented partner in Aditya Balivada who smashed an equally entertaining and impressive century scoring 123 off just 63balls which included 18fours and 2sixes. Both this batsman also stitched an epic 250+ runs partnership and the aggression at which they were batting was quite commendable for their age. It was their brutal batting which took their team score to a mammoth 286/1.

Chasing 287 in 20 overs is always out of reach for most of the teams and Chembur Gymkhana also felt the pressure of chasing such a big score. Eventually they managed to score 135/6 where in Devang top scored with 49. Sanjivani Cricket Academy won the match by 151runs and these two talented kids definately stole the show with their electrifying batting. Atharva with 3/15 was the pick of the bowlers while Manan was declared ‘man of the match’.
