There are some players who can amaze you with their exceptional talent and Yogesh Dhicholkar is one such player who has impressed one and all with his exceptional bowling in this season of Kanga as he has come up with as many as 33wkts in 10innings he has bowled with 2 five wicket hauls and 3 four wicket hauls. Yogesh has bowled well consistently and has certainly proved on to become an asset for Matunga Gymkhana.
His last outing was at Dadkar Maidan just recently on 26th November where Matunga Gymkhana had to face Taki Team Sports Club where in Taki won the toss and elected to bowl first in a match which was a low scoring affair. Taki bowlers did a good job bowling first as Matunga Gymkhana were all out for just 123 runs in 37.1 overs. Opener Abhijit Shetye was the lone warrior with a solid 66 off 77balls while the rest of the batsman from the other end kept on losing wickets. Rupesh Naik was the pick of the bowlers with 5/34 while Atish also chipped in with 3wkts.
However, Matunga Gymkhana bounced back with the ball as they bundled out Taki team for just 112runs in 34.2 overs. The bowler who once again inflicted the maximum damage was their left arm spinner Yogesh Dicholkar as he scalped one of the best bowling figures of Kanga this season with 8/24 in 15.2 overs with 5maidens. Yogesh spun the ball really well and kept on bowling in excellent line and length which reaped rewards for him as well as his team. Matunga batted for another 19overs in the 2nd innings where in Sinosh Panicker played a counter attacking knock of 73* off just 51 deliveries which was entertaining to watch. Matunga Gymkhana won the match on 1st innings and it was definately Yogesh who was the standout performer. Cricketgraph congratulates Yogesh Dicholkar who was also awarded the best bowler in Times Shield B division(with 29wkts) last week at the prize distribution function at BKC for the season 2016-2017.
