Left-arm pacer Uzair Khan scalps a fifer vs Maskati Cricket Club in the Kanga League 2017
Played at the cross maidan ground in Mumbai, two promising and young teams namely Maskati Cricket Club and United Cricketers clashed against each other where in United Cricketers won the toss and decided to bowl first.
Their decision to bowl first was accurate as they restricted Maskati Boys to only 148/all out in 27.2 overs. Even though the top order failed to give a good start, it was their middle order bats Ajay Pandey & Suraj Navale who chipped in with 28 & 35 respectively. From the bowling side, it was their left arm medium pacer Uzair Khan who reminded us of quality left arm bowlers like Zaheer Khan and Ashish Mishra as he took 5/36 in his short yet aggressive spell of 9 overs. Uzair bowled in the right areas while he also got able support from another left arm pacer Sandeep Pawar who also came up with decent bowling figures of 4/60 in 16.2 overs.
In reply, United Cricketers scored 145/6 in 36.4 overs where in every batsman chipped in with 20’s and 30’s while Rohit Ruke top scored with 34. The match ended in a draw after the completion of 73.4 overs while Uzair’s bowling took everyone notice which became highlight perfomance of the match. Cricketgraph congratulates Uzair while wishes both the teams luck for a great year in cricket ahead.
