Khanapurkar’s 100 & Shukla’s 4-fer power Khar Gymkhana to the Semi-Finals of Young Comrade Shield

In the quarter-final of Young Comrade Shield, Khar Gymkhana locked horns against Sind Sports Club on January 14 and 15. Khar Gymkhana won the toss and elected to bat.

Batting first, Khar Gymkhana posted a mammoth 336 in 67.5 overs, thanks to Parag Khanapurkar’s stellar century. Hiken Shah was the other major contributor with the bat for Khar Gymkhana, with a scintillating 88. Ajay Mishra (37) and Rohit Shukla (34) too chipped in with useful contributions. On the other hand, Sind Sports Club’s Puneet Tripathi wreaked havoc with the ball, scalping 135/5.

In reply, Sind Sports Club were skittled out for a paltry 164 in 45.1 overs, and they lost the match by 172 runs. Satyalaksh Jain fought hard for his 47 but failed to take Sind Sports Club closer to the target. On the other hand, Khar Gymkhana’s Rohit Shukla (24/4) and Ajay Mishra (48/3) were impressive with the ball.
