Kanga League “B” Div Updates: Some Terrific Fifties and Amazing Bowling Spells
The last Sunday was an eventful day with almost every division and every team getting proper matches to play. The good performances were not just limited to A Division as every division had some good performances coming out. Hence here is a brief overview into what happened last Sunday in the B Division of Kanga League-
Parel SC took on Sainath SC on their home turf where in Parel were made to bat first. Quickster Virat Mishra ran through Parel’s batting line up as he came up with amazing bowling figures of 6/41 in 13overs. The youngster is generating really good pace and looks a very promising fast bowler. Parel SC did not bat while the match ended in a draw.
In the match between Apollo CC and Regal CC at Islam Gymkhana, Apollo CC were all-out for 103runs on the back of an accurate bowling spell by Saeed Khot bagging 5/52 in 15.5overs. Hitesh Chauhan made a solid 87ball 51 which helped Regal CC to reach 105/8dec. Apollo CC batted for 11overs before the match ended with Regal CC winning the match on 1st innings lead.
Young Comrade CC and DY Patil Sports Academy faced each other at PJ Hindu Gymkhana where in Young Comrade CC made 205/10 after being made to bat first. Middle order batsman Taranjeet Singh scored a fluent 86 off 127balls (7fours,4sixes) which helped Young Comrade cross the 200run mark. DY Patil batted for127/8 in 33overs before the match ended in a draw with no results being obtained.
Mumbai Police Gymkhana took on Palghar Dahanu TSA at the Police Gymkhana Ground where in Mumbai Police batting first declared their innings at 185/4dec in 36overs. Big hitting all-rounder Shahid Shaikh who is known for his aggressive batting top scored with a yet another fiery 54* off 34balls while opener Sunil Patil also looked good for his 51 at the top of the order. Palghar Dahanu were 102/6 in 45 overs before the end of the game’s play resulting in a draw.
In the match between Bhatnagar S&CF vs United Cricketers at Cross Maidan, Bhatnagar team notched up 149/7d on the back of Akshat Jain’s unbeaten 55* off 78balls. Left arm spinner Sandeep Pawar took 5/58 in 15.5overs being the pick of the bowlers. United Cricketers were bundled out for 62runs all out as left-arm spinner Akshay Darekar came up with a terrorizing spell of 5/22 in 10.5overs which helped Bhatnagar team win the match on 1st innings lead.
