Jitesh Purabia scores a sparkling 58* off 26balls in the opening match vs IBM of the Telecom Premier League
Jitesh is known for his aggressive batting & he just showed what he was capable of again in the opening match of the Telecom Premier League. The match was held at Parsi Gymkhana between Airtel & IBM where Airtel batted first in order to put IBM under pressure.
Right-handed Jitesh Purabia is known to be a clean hitter & easily clears the ropes on his day and this was not the first time Jitesh scored a quick half-century to upset the opposition. Batting first, Airtel managed to score 126/3 in where Purabia was the highest scorer. Jitesh scored 58 off mere 26balls & covered every part of the ground with authority. Playing at a strike rate of over 200, Jitesh smashed 7fours & 2sixes to enthrall his team mates and the spectators alike. The rest of the batsman could not convert their starts with Prakash, Aniket & Mayur scoring 18, 15 & 12 respectively.
In reply IBM managed to reach only 86/6 and lost the opening match to Airtel by 40runs. Thanks to some tight bowling & fielding, the IBM batsmen were not able to score runs at will.
