IndiaFirst Life Insurance starts its Corporate Cricket Season 2021-22 with a bang!

After three highly successful back-to-back Cricket Seasons, the last couple of which were cut short prematurely by the global pandemic, the Life Insurance Company started its current campaign in style.

In their first League Match of the Pulse Sports Red Ball T20 Corporate Cricket Tournament played at the Oval Maidan at Churchgate, newly appointed Skipper Sandeep Patil won the Toss against Soni United, and elected to Bat on a good-looking Pitch.

The elegant left-hander Anil Kumar (31 from 17 Balls; 4 Fours & 1 Six) and Israr put on a solid and quick-fire Opening stand of 43 in 4.5 Overs. Prithvi (48 n.o.) held one side up, stitching together useful Partnerships with Sandeep Shetty (15) and the stylish right-hander Rohit Shetty (22 n.o. from 16 Balls). An unbeaten Partnership of 44 from 26 Balls for the sixth Wicket with the latter really provided the impetus for the good total of 158/5 in the allotted 20 Overs for IndiaFirst Life. For Soni, Jugal (2-0-17-2), Devansh (3-0-16-1) & Meet (3-0-14-0) were the pick of the Bowlers.

During the chase, though Soni had a good start (35/0 in 4 Overs), they never seemed in the hunt thereafter. Ankit (44 Runs; 4 Fours & 1 Six) and Jigar (25 from 19 Balls; 3 Fours & 1 Six) provided some resistance, before the former was trapped in front by Anil. Left-arm Spinners Wasim (4-0-16-2) & Anil (4-0-22-1) and Medium-pacer Sandeep Shetty (4-0-26-0) kept it tight in the Bowling department. At the end, Soni finished at 130/6 to provide IndiaFirst a 28 Run victory. Anil was adjudged the Man-of-the-Match for his all-round performance.

The comprehensive win looks like a good start to the Season for the IndiaFirst Life Insurance Team that’s looking forward to a gruelling Cricketing Calendar that lies ahead in the coming 5 to 6 Months – across multiple competitive Corporate as well as Open Tournaments.
