India Blue openers (Juniors) help win the finals in style in the Target Cricket League 2017
Played at the Bhavani Niketan Cricket Ground at Jaipur and also aired live on DD Rajesthan TV channel, it was the all important finals between India Blue and India Purple. Alok Kumar& Sandeep Bharadwaj were the skippers of their respective teams and the match was reduced to just 5 overs per side due to rain where in India Purple won the toss and elected to bat first.
Batting first, India Purple boys made a respectable 47/1 in 5 overs which is anytime of the day defendable though they could have tried reaching atleast 60 in 5 overs to give a very tough fight. Even in their 47, there were 14extras or else the target could have been lesser with their opener Rajan Chauhan remaining unbeaten on 17* off 11balls. The bowlers did a good job and bowled really tight to contain the batsman.
In reply, India Blue chased down the score comfortably in mere 3.4 overs thanks to their in-form all-rounder Sumit Kumar who scored a fiery 28* off just 12balls(1four, 3sixes) to take the game away from the opposition. India Blue win the finals by 10wkts and 8balls to spare while batting all-rounder Sumit Kumar was not only declared ‘man of the match’ but also ‘man of the series’ for scoring 86runs and 3wkts in the tournament. Cricketgraph congratulates Sumit and the whole team while wishes all the players luck for a great cricketing year ahead.
