Harshit Bobade’s 54* steers Bhosle CA to an 8-wicket win in MD Memorial Cup

On January 3, Bhosle CA crushed RC Sports Club by eight wickets as they chased 83 in 12.4 overs during the MD Memorial Cup. 

Winning the toss and electing to bat first, RC Sports Club posted a humble total of 82/9 in 20 overs. Shreyas Naik fought hard for his 33-ball 27 that included a couple of boundaries but failed to find able allies. On the other hand, Bhosle CA’s Deeyan Gala and Vivek Yadav had impressive outings with the ball and the duo claimed two scalps each. Gala starred with 13/2 in three overs and Yadav picked 12/2 in two overs.

With a modest target of 83, Bhosle CA overhauled it in 12.4 overs and won the match by eight wickets. Opening batter Harshit Bobade was at the helm of the run chase and muscled an unconquered 54 off 43, hitting seven fours and clearing the ropes twice. On the other hand, RC Sports Club’s Yadnya Patil and Nidhi Dave claimed one wicket apiece.

Cricket is a sport that Juili picked up right from her childhood days. Her journey from playing with the boys in the compound walls to practising under the able aegis of Jonty Rhodes has been a spectacular one.
She was a part of Mumbai Women’s U-19 and U-23 probables during her four-year stint at the MCA. As a middle order bat and a part time medium pace bowler, she also represented Mumbai University at All-India University Women’s Cricket for two years.

In the quest of further education, she discontinued with the sport. Currently she is pursuing her Ph.D in Finance from IIT Bombay’s School of Management.
