GSC Warriors beats GSC Strikers to win Goregaon Sports Club Premier League 2016
The final match of Goregaon Sports Club Premier League 2016 was played on 7th Feb, Super Sunday at Goregaon Sports Club (GSC) between GSC Strikers and GSC Warriors. It was a cracker of a contest and the atmosphere was electrifying at the GSC. GSC Warriors won the toss and asked the GSC Strikers to bat first. The Warriors bowled extremely well and bundled out the Strikers for a paltry 116 in 19.4 overs. Sunil Bhutoria was the pick of the bowlers as he grabbed 3-13 in his two overs. Along with Hemal Dave (2-15) and Ravinder Matharu (2-13), Bhutoria bowled nicely in tandem, thus helping Warriors to rattle the Strikers cheaply. Opening bat Kinshuk Rai top scored with a patient 32 which came off 34 balls, however had no backing from his fellow teammates.
In reply, it was a smooth sail for GSC Warriors as they chased down the target in 17.1 overs, keeping five wickets in hand. It was a wonderful team effort from Warriors as all the batsmen chipped in to see their team home. Sunil Dewali struck 2-27 in his four overs, but the Warriors were too good to let the match go. In the end, it was GSC Warriors who had the last laugh as they clinched the Goregaon Sports Club Premier League 2016 Cup.
Sunil Bhutoria of GSC Warriors was declared as the Man of the Match and Tusshar Uchil of GSC Riders as the Man of the Series. The other award rendered were, Best Bowler to Mukul Agarwal (GSC Riders), Best Batsman to Dhun Somaiya (GSC Chargers) and the Runners-up team to GSC Riders.
