The man who has bamboozled the batsman with his wily spin since the time he was only 17, the man who took all ten wickets in an innings in the Kanga League in 2014 in an A Div match, the man who got selected by Rajasthan Royals in IPL purely on the basis of his merit and later on by Kings XI Punjab in 2016.
Yes Pardeep Sahu, from a school boy to a first class cricketer to being selected by the IPL teams, his journey has always been a special one. The right-arm leg break googly bowler is surely amongst the most quality spinners in India right now and it was certainly good to see him coming back to his old self where he was bowling in a nice zone with great line and length.
In the recently held Times Shield and Talim Shield matches in Dec ‘17-Jan 2018, there hasn’t been a single match where he went without taking wickets. Sahu is successfully foxing the batsman with his wily spin and add to it he is looking in really good shape as far as his fitness is concerned. All these are certainly positive indicators for a great cricketing season ahead if he manages to play in maximum matches. Seems like Pardeep is hitting the right patch of form and should be utilized properly by the skippers as he is in a zone where he is bowling consistenly well to trouble the batsman. In fact, he was also recently felicitated in the Padmakar Talim Shield Tournament 2018 as he was amongst the pick of the bowlers in the tournament.
Also if we go and look back at his perfomance in the matches he has played this season so far, it’s a clear indicator of the damage he can inflict and how handy he can be as a frontline spinner for any team he plays for.
