Mumbai, December 10 – Ghatkopar Jolly Gymkhana (GJG) won a thrilling 1-run victory over Matunga Gymkhana in the MCA President Cup ‘C & D’ Division final, played at Wankhede Stadium on Sunday. Despite a tough pitch and determined Matunga team, GJG held their nerve to emerge as champions in a dramatic finish.
Sent in to bat first, Ghatkopar Jolly Gymkhana (GJG) a batters found it difficult to score quickly on the slow pitch, managing to post a modest total of 132 for 5 in their 20 overs. Left-handed batter Vedansh Patel top-scored with an unbeaten 33 runs, while Pratik Mhatre contributed 36 runs, and Jay Sangani added an unbeaten 24 runs. Ghatkopar Jolly Gymkhana (GJG) struggled against Matunga Gymkhana bowlers, with left-arm spinner Yogesh Dicholkar (2 for 14) and off-spinner Kunal Gawand (2 for 22) doing the damage for Matunga.
