FTL XI outplay Cricket Mantras by 19 runs in Thane Premier League

FTL XI successfully defended 149 as they beat Cricket Mantras by 19 runs in Thane Premier League on Friday at the Dadoji Konddev Stadium.

Winning the toss and electing to field first, Cricket Mantras invited FTL XI to bat. Shoaib Shaikh was the star performer of the day with the bat for FTL XI as he muscled 54 runs from 35 balls, including seven fours and two sixes. Together with Sarvesh Patil (40; 34b, 4×5), Shoaib stitched a crucial 71-run partnership for the fourth wicket. For Cricket Mantras, opening bowler Anurag Pandey and left arm spinner Pragnesh Kanpillewar were among the most successful bowlers as they picked three wickets each.

In reply, Cricket Mantras fought hard but fell shy of 19 runs in the end as they were bowled out for 130 in 19.5 overs. The opening pair of Swapnil Pradhan (27; 30b, 4×3) and Pragnesh Kanpillewar (24; 20 b, 4×3, 6×1) provided a steady start as they put together 39 runs in 5.4 overs. Later, Manish Yadav (20; 16b, 4×2) and Manish Rao (24; 13b, 4×3, 6×1) carried forward the run chase but could not take their side home. Ajay Patil was the wrecker-in-chief with the ball as he scalped 4/32 in four overs. The right arm speedster bowled disciplined lines and lengths and yielded rich dividends. He found an able ally in Vikas Pandey, who accounted for 3/27 in four overs.

FTL XI defeated Cricket Mantras by 19 runs on the penultimate ball of the match in the Thane Premier League.
