Cricket returned with energy and noise at the start of the Thane Premier League 2026, as Dadoji Kondadev Stadium hosted a double-header that set the tone for the tournament.

Strong opening statement from Eknath Shinde CC- II

The inaugural clash on May 1 saw Eknath Shinde Cricket club- II take on Daiwadnya Cricket Club. After being asked to bat, Eknath Shinde CC- II didn’t hold back. They piled up a commanding 228/5, building pressure right from the start.

The standout with the bat was Om Keshkamat, whose quickfire 47 off just 15 balls gave the innings serious momentum. It wasn’t just about runs on the board; it was the intent that stood out.

Chasing a steep target, Daiwadnya Cricket Club never quite found their rhythm. They managed 162/7, falling well short despite a few starts. The difference came with the ball, where Om Keshkamat backed up his batting with 2 wickets, alongside Siddhant Singh who also picked up a couple.

Eknath Shinde Cricket club – II sealed the game by 66 runs, and Om Keshkamat’s all-round impact made him the clear choice for Man of the Match.

Eknath Shinde Cricket club- I continues the dominance

The second match of the day followed a similar script, this time featuring Eknath Shinde CC I against Sporting Club Committee.

Winning the toss and opting to bat, Eknath Cricket club – I posted a solid 188/7. The innings was shaped by two key knocks Sairaj Patil’s composed 50 off 31 balls and Siddharth Mhatre’s aggressive 62 off 32, which gave the total both stability and acceleration.

For Sporting Club Committee, Arvind Patel was the pick of the bowlers with 3 wickets, trying to keep things in check.

But the chase never really took off. Sporting CC were restricted to 134, as Eknath cricket club – I bowlers controlled the game well. Siddharth Mhatre and Shashi Kadam led the effort with 2 wickets each, ensuring a comfortable 54-run victory.

With contributions in both departments, Siddharth Mhatre earned the Man of the Match award.
