DU Inter College: Shivaji College beats Deshbandhu College by 9 wickets; Manoj Tehlan takes five-for
Shivaji College bowlers handed their team an easy one-sided victory by 9 wickets over their opponents Deshbandhu College in their Inter College knockout encounter. The chief architect of the win was Shivaji bowler Manoj Tehlan who ran through the batting line up of Deshbandhu College, picking up five wickets and reduced the work load of batsmen.
Batting first, Deshbandhu College were skittled for mere 66 runs inside 23 overs. Opener Ashish Manghi top scored with 27 runs but rest of the batting just fell apart. No other batsman could cross the 10 run mark. Manoj Tehlan was well supported by Nitin Tyagi (3 wickets) and Himanshu Panchal (2 wickets).
In reply, Shivaji’s chase was led by opener Aditya Sharma who scored unbeaten 42 runs with 10 boundaries. Deepesh Naiwal supported him with his knock of 20 runs. The other opener Rohit got out for just 1 run.
