Dinesh Patil scores a crucial half-century to steer JSW to a commanding win over Nomura in the Milan T20 Tournament
JSW & Nomura clashed for a crucial encounter at the Youth Union Ground in Mumbai. JSW won the toss & smartly elected to bowl first as the pitch was looking supportive for the bowlers to restrict the opposition to a low total.
Batting first, Nomura managed to score 133/9 in 20 overs which was not the biggest of scores to defend. JSW’s decision to bowl first did reap rewards as they managed to restrict Nomura to a low total. Even though their no.3 batsman Nilesh k scored a fighting 56 off just 49balls but he lacked support from the other end as none of the batsman managed to score runs like he did. Left-arm spinner Darshan Vange was the pick of the bowlers troubling batsman & coming up with good bowling figures of 3/21 in his 3 overs. Rasik & Omkar also bowled well as they chipped in with 2wkts each.
Chasing 134 was a mere formality and a cakewalk for most of the teams in the T20 format as WNS won the match by 8wkts and 4overs to spare. Even though the openers failed to give a blazing start, Dinesh Patil at no.3 scored a match-winning 52* off 41balls (7fours,1six) to steer his team towards the victory line. Mitunjay also gave good support scoring an unbeaten 38* off 26balls.
