Crucial 50’s by Vivek Patel and Abheejet steers IDBI to a win in the Super Sports CCL 2017

Played at the Matunga Gymkhana between two really promising teams namely IDBI Federal and Abbott, IDBI won the toss and elected to bat first with an aim of making a big total and putting the opposition under pressure.

Their decision to bat first was quite spot on as they managed to score a healthy total of 176runs in 20 overs which is always defendable. Opener Vivek Patel gave a really good start which developed the positive momentum from the very 1^st over. Vivek went on to score 61 off just 43balls smashing 7fours and a six while he also got a solid partner at no.3 in Abheejit who scored a gritty 59. Both the players also indulged in a crucial partnership which took the team total to a respectable score of 176. Ajit S with 4/24 bowled really well but he lacked support from the other bowlers.

Chasing a total of 177 at almost 9runs per over, Abbott must have felt the pressure of chasing as they managed to score only 77/9 in 20 overs. Rajesh bowled a fantastic spell of 4/27 in 4 overs which did the maximum damage. IDBI federal won the match by 100 runs and opener Vivek Patel was declared ‘man of the match’
