Chinmay Sutar and Atul Singh lead Eknath Shinde CC-2 to the finals of the Thane Premier League: Chief Minister Trophy 2023
Eknath Shinde CC-2 have advanced to the finals of the Thane Premier League: Chief Minister Trophy 2023 after a convincing five-wicket victory over Ambernath Rising CC in the semi-finals at Dadoji Kondev.
After winning the toss, Eknath Shinde CC-2 elected to field first. Ambernath Rising CC got off to a decent start with Prasad Pawar and Parikshit Valsangkar scoring 51 and 37 runs respectively. However, the rest of the team struggled against Eknath Shinde CC-2’s bowlers, especially Atul Singh who took three wickets for just 14 runs. Ambernath Rising CC were bowled out for 128 runs.
In their chase, Eknath Shinde CC-2 started cautiously, losing a few early wickets. However, Chinmay Sutar and Dhrumil Matkar took charge of the innings, scoring 45* and 35 runs respectively. Their partnership helped Eknath Shinde CC-2 reach the target of 129 runs in the 19.2 overs.
The victory was well-deserved for Eknath Shinde CC-2, who bowled and fielded brilliantly to restrict Ambernath Rising CC to a modest total. They will now face the winner of the second semi-final in the finals of the Thane Premier League: Chief Minister Trophy 2023.
