Big win for IndiaFirst Life Insurance as Akshay Gaikwad and Anil Kumar smash tons in JFSC Matunga League’21

India First Life Insurance opting to bat first at Matunga Gymkhana Ground in Mumbai had a blast batting as their top 3 batters single handedly decimitated the opposition bowlers with as many as 22 sixes amongst them.  Opener Akshay Gaikwad and Amit Rathod (51 runs) stitched 99 runs together while Akshay pounced on the positive momentum going on to score 103* off 55 balls.  Akshay smashed 8 fours and 7 sixes batting till the very end while Anil Kumar R was the star attraction of the day smashing one of the fastest hundreds of 2021 in Mumbai Cricket.

Anil Kumar R took mere 33 balls smashing as many as 12 sixes with a strike rate of 306.06 en-route his unbeaten 101*. What’s more Anil and Akshay also stitched an unbeaten 158 run stand for the 2nd wicket taking the team total to 257/2 in 20 overs.

RBL Team in reply scored 174/6 in 20 overs falling quite short of their target of 258 runs in 20 overs. From RBL, opener Dipesh Monde top scored with 57 runs off 46 balls while Vishal Bhayje down the order was the 2nd highest scorer with 45* off 22 balls. From the bowlers, Bubli Sharma with 3/25 was the pick of the lot.
