Auction Day Summary from IDFC First Bank MCA BKC RC Members Premier League’22

The auction for players to feature in the second edition of the IDFC First Bank MCA BKC RC Members Premier League (MPL) took place on February 12 in the Boundary Hall of MCA BKC facility. A total of five teams participated in the auction and 55 players went under the hammer. Every team had a fund of ₹10,00,000. Prior to the actual auction, each team got three chances, in a snake pattern, to pick their favourite players. Once the teams got what they wanted, the actual auction of players started.

During the auction extravaganza, the highest price of ₹3,00,000 was bagged by Keyur Shah and Anand Thakkar in category A, while in category B, Bhoumick Vaidya was the leader of the pack. In category C and U, Rushabh Desai and Kamal Punwani were the richest buys as they attracted ₹60,000 and ₹1,80,000 respectively.

At the end of the auction, all the five teams had 13 players each. It was a competitive auction as the team owners applied their strategies to get the best bet which would help them to formulate a balanced team, atleast on paper. With just 13 days to go for the second edition of the MCA BKC RC MPL, there is a lot of excitement and enthusiasm in the five participating camps. Just like the last edition, a lot of fireworks are expected this time around too.
