Hitting a six to complete his century , gutsy batting by Subramanian for D.Y Patil Sports Academy in Kanga league A divison | MCA
D.Y Patil Sports Academy declared their innings at 251/5 against Parsee Gymkhana in Kanga League A division match but not before witnessing a patient knock of 100 by Subramanian. Subramanian who is usually known for his aggressive batting right from the first ball played an uncharacteristic patient innings on a slow track. “Avishkar Salvi was able to cut the ball at will which made scoring runs very difficult, however I got into a good flow once the spinners came into action. The boundary was on the shorter side and took my chances against spinners which gave dividends. ” as quoted by Subbu.
Subbu completed his century by swiping the ball for a six against a talented spinner – Hemant Buchade ! Not many batsman would consider taking that route when you are in the nervous 90’s.
Shashank Singh (45*) too contributed with bat once again.
The inexperienced Parsee Gymkhana were all out for a paltry 81 against the mesmerising D.Y Patil spinners Iqbal Abdullah (4/14) and leggie Pravin Tambe (4/14). it was an important match for Pravin Tambe since he was out of action due to a finger injury.
The day belonged to opener batsman Subramanian for his 107(95) on a difficult batting wicket.
D.Y.Patil sports academy won on first innings.
