It was the 2nd league match in the B group of Giles Shield between Balmohan Vidyamandir and Al Barkat school. Both the teams were strong and had good players to play competitive cricket. Al Barkat elected to field first after winning the toss as they have a deep batting line up. (till number 8)

Balmohan Vidyamandir were castled out for 33 because of some fantastic bowling by Anurag Singh in the 1st innings. His 5/12 made Balmohan all out for just 33 runs and his bowling spell set the tone of the match. Left arm spinner Anurag who was the 1st change completely destroyed the entire batting line up of Balmohan team. Himanshu Singh also took 3 wickets along with Adil taking one. In reply, Al Barkat batted exceptionally well and declared themselves at 295/6 with openers Harsh Mogaveera(140) & Ankit Yadav (95) scoring almost 70 percent of the runs. Left-handed harsh did clean batting and was flawless in his 165 ball stay at the crease while right handed Ankit was aggressive & was equally pleasing to the eyes. Both the openers indulged in a match winning 185 run partnership.

Trailing 262, left arm leg spinner Adil Sayyed showed what he is capable of with the ball picking up 7/7 in 6 overs. His bowling spell proved that small age (11 years old) is nothing against immense talent. His 7/7 at this age is nothing but a revelation in the cricketing circles & a big achievement. Anurag also chipped in with 2 wickets in the 2nd innings and both the bowlers took 15 wickets together. Balmohan were all out for 54 and Al Barkat School comfortably won the match by 218 runs & an innings.

It was an excellent performance by the Al-barkat boys and the runner ups since the last two years are looking strong contenders for winning the tournament this year.

Even their coach Nafees Khan believes Adil Sayyed and his boys will go a long way. Nafees khan also mentioned to Cricketgraph “that we are a team of 4 coaches working for Al-barkat since 2008, the school supports the sport of cricket with full heart & neither charges any student for cricket coaching. Al Barkat school who has 4 cricket coaches must be proud of their boys. Their focus is always to take the kids who have passion towards cricket to take them to the highest level in professional cricket.
