Ankit Tiwari’s 143 & 5-fer, Jagdish Jadhav’s 92* help DMCC take 1st innings lead in times Shield
DMCC and Nirlon Sports Club clashed against each other during the Times Shield. The two teams form a part of the ‘B’ Division in the tournament. The match was played from December 27 to 29. DMCC won the toss and elected to bat.
Riding on Ankit Tiwari’s 143 and Jagdish Jadhav’s undefeated 92, DMCC posted a challenging total of 279 in 70.4 overs. While Tiwari smashed 17 boundaries and a six in his 171-ball knock, Jadhav blasted eight fours and a couple of sixes in his 126-ball innings. On the other hand, Nirlon Sports Club’s Hemant Buchade was the pick of the bowlers, scalping 93/4 in 27.4 overs.
In reply, Nirlon Sports Club were bowled out for 243 in 69.2 overs, conceding a lead of 36 runs. Agni Chopra and (61) Arya Satpute (58 not out) struck fighting half-centuries to help their team inch closer to DMCC’s first innings score. On the other hand, DMCC’s Ankit Tiwari was the wrecker-in-chief with the ball, claiming 29/5 in 13.2 overs.
DMCC, in their second innings, scored 101/2 in 29 overs. Opening batter Yash Patil muscled an unbeaten 54, and number four batter Ramanpreet Singh Ghoman chipped in with 44. For Nirlon Sports Club, Hemant Buchade was the lone wicket-taker with 10/2 in six overs.
The match between DMCC and Nirlon Sports Club ended in a draw, with DMCC taking the first-innings lead.
