Aman Tiwary scalps 9wkts while Princely and Omkar deliver with the bat as U/16 Virar-Palghar whitewash Bandra in the Kalpesh Koli Tournament ‘18
Played at the Ours Cricket Club the promising Virar+ Palghar side took on the powerful U/16 Bandra team where in Virar/Palghar’s skipper Mayank Teotia won the toss and elected to bat first on a track which looked good to bat first.
Their decision was spot on as they batted really well with almost every player giving handy contributions. Skipper Mayank Teotia scored a well crafted 60 while promising all rounder Princely Perreira top scored with a rock solid 79 off 161balls laced with 11 boundaries. Omkar Malekar at no.6 also batted really well as he scored a timely 71 off 115balls (9fours and a six) which pushed the team total to a very healthy 354/7 in 101 overs. From the bowlers, left arm spinner Shubham Kharat was the pick of the bowlers taking 6/69 in 31overs with 10 maidens.
Bandra on the other hand were all out for mere 81runs in the 1st innings with promising left arm spinner Aman Tiwary coming up with a great bowling spell of 5/19 in 10.2 overs. The rest of the bowlers also did a really good job bowling around him. Receiving a follow on, Bandra were 138/8 in their 2nd innings with Aman again bagging 4wkts taking his tally of bowling figures to 9/70 in the match as U/16 Virar+Palghar won the match in a dominating fashion on 1st innings.
