All-rounder Avnish shines for Naaptol against HBS Realtors in Woods T20 Corporate match
It was quite a one-sided affair at Venus Sports Academy, Mumbai when HBS Realtors locked horns against Naaptol Online Pvt Ltd on 9th April during the Woods T20 Bowled Out Corporate Cricket Tournament. Batting first, HBS Realtors posted a humble 117-6 in 20 overs. Opening bat Himanshu was the lone fighter who remained unbeaten on 49 off 48 balls. Apart from him, none of the HBS’s batsmen looked in shape. Naaptol bowled well and their disciplined bowling efforts were rewarded as well. Kiran and Praveen picked up two wickets each.
Chasing a low target can sometimes get tricky and this is what happened with Naaptol. They got off to a disastrous start, losing their top four batsmen for naught. All four of them departed without troubling the scorers. Abhishek picked up three and Roopchand grabbed one. It was the middle order pair of Haseeb (52 not out off 48 balls) and Avnish (40 not out off 43 balls) that bailed out Naaptol. Both these players absorbed the pressure well and ensured that their team was home safe. They ran well between the wickets and struck the odd boundary to maintain the required run rate. Haseeb and Avnish were the saviours of Naaptol. The target was chased down in 16.5 overs with six wickets in hand.
Avnish (1-9 in 4 overs and 40 not out off 43 balls) was declared as the Man of the Match for his match-winning all-round performance.
