Akash Mishra’s wily 5/16 steers SVIS to a win in the Khichadiya Khar-16 Tournament ‘18
Played at the Cross Maidan, it was a match between two really talented teams of Mumbai at school level i.e Gokuldham High School and SVIS where in Gokuldham school won the toss and elected to bat first with an aim of making a big total.
However, Gokuldham School were made to face a bowler unleashed by SVIS on the right time as Akash Mishra made the batsman struggle with his disciplined bowling. Akash not only kept on bowling in the right areas but also took wickets at regular intervals which restricted Gokuldham to just 76/all-out in 26.1 overs. Akash Mishra with 5/16 in 8.1overs (1maiden) bowled quite a commendable spell being the pick of the bowlers while Aryan badhe also took 2wkts.
In reply, SVIS chased down the score in a commanding fashion as their openers finished the game in style in mere 11.1 overs. Sourabh Singh scored an unbeaten 38* off 39balls while his partner Malhar Mane remained unbeaten on 25* off 39balls helping SVIS win the match by 10wkts. SVIS dominated this match right from the start and it was certainly Akash’s bowling which remained the highlight perfomance of the match.
