Aditya Mhatre’s Quickfire 51 helps capgemini win their first match in the Dreamz T20
Winning their first league match against Bernard Shipping, Capgemini has surely started off on a positive note in the ongoing Dreamz Corporate T20 Tournament. Capgemini had a few advantages too as they had witnessed other teams playing on the same day at the same pitch which made them aware of the pitch conditions. Losing the toss & sent in to bat first, that was what exactly Capgemini team were looking for.
Batting first, Capgemini felt early jitters losing three wickets in quick succession. The game changed for Capgemini after Aditya Mhatre came in & played a splendid knock of 51 runs of just 35 balls. The captain had already advised to make full use of the new ball. Aditya Mhatre followed his skipper’s advice & smashed 5 aggressive boundaries and a huge six over midwicket in his fluent yet aggressive knock of 51. Moreover he crafted useful partnerships with the middle order.
Chasing a mammoth 197 in 20 overs, Bernard Shipping were already feeling the pressure. Add to it, Capgemini bowlers did a fantastic job as each bowler chipped in with wickets. Yogesh Thakkar was the pick of the bowlers snapping up 3 wickets for just 15 runs in his quota of 3.5 overs. The pressure was quite evident on the opposition team as they were bundled out for just 71 runs in 16.5 overs.
Capgemini comfortably won the match by 134 runs and 3 overs to spare and they look all set to seal their place for qualifying in the quarters and semis by putting up a good show in the matches to come!
