Mumbai: A fine all-round display by the promising Shravan Mhatre (48* & 1/17) helped his team, Achievers Cricket Academy win the title in the first Under-11 T-21 Cricket Tournament organized by Sanjeevani Cricket Academy (SCA) at the Saffire ground in Bhakti Park, Wadala. In a thrilling final, Achievers CA defeated Boys Cricket Club by five wickets on the penultimate ball of the tournament. It was a match that was worthy of a final, but at the end it was the Achievers Cricket Academy batsmen who kept their nerves and took home the winner’s trophy.
In the grand finale, Boys CC scored 139/5 after electing to bat first as Anirudh Naik (37* off 28) and Aniket Patil (31 off 52) chipped in with useful contributions. Chasing a stiff target, Achievers CA lost wickets in the middle, but Shravan Mhatre kept his cool and batted sensibly to score a steady unbeaten knock of 48 to steer his side to a title win. Shravan got good support from Ayush Kashyap who scored a patient 27 off 38 balls and Agneya Aadi, who scored an attacking 21 in just 11 deliveries that played a crucial role in the successful chase.
The winners and runners-up received glittering trophies, while the individual award winners received trophies and certificates for their performances throughout the tournament. The smiles and happiness on the faces of the players and their parents was a clear reflection of how much they enjoyed participating in this tournament that was wonderfully organized and conducted by the Sanjeevani Cricket Academy.
