A superb all-round show from Abhijit BabarDesai ensured a smooth win for CMI in the qtr final of Dreamz Trophy T20 tournament.

It was an overall team effort as well with both batsmen and bowlers chipping in individually to contribute to the victory.

CMI won the toss and chose to bat first. The opening stand lasted for mere 3 balls as Yatin Shinde failed to protect his wickets against Ravish. But it was the excellent 80 run stand between Girish and Abhijit in approx. 9 overs that restored the momentum of the innings. CMI batsmen maintained a good run rate throughout and eventually scored 154 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Anup and Rohan also chipped in with quick fire 33 and 22 respectively. Extras also amounted to 22. Indus Tower bowler Kiran snapped 2 wickets in his quota of 4 overs.

The total was competitive but achievable. But Indus Towers could not keep up with the tempo and ran out of overs in their chase that required a run rate of just below 8. Opener Ravish top scored with 27 and Johnson chipped in with 25 but lack of support from rest of the batting did them in. CMI bowlers did a commendable job in restricting the opposition to 120. Abhijit and Nishantpicked 2 wickets each. As many as four other bowlers shared a wicket each.

Abhijit Babardesai was adjudged man of the match for his superlative efforts with both bat and ball.
