A Great performance by Team Chintamani helps them win the all important finals of the Friends Premier League
It was the all important finals between VFCL & Chintamani at the Yashwant Nagar Cricket ground in Virar. Team Chintamani won the toss & elected to field first in order to restrict VFCL to a low total and put them under pressure.
The decision of fielding first did reap rewards for them as they managed to restrict VFCL for just 112/9 in 20 overs. Bhadresh (17 off 34), Virat Mishra (22 off 15) & Arun Shetty (22 off 15) were the only 3 who managed to score in two figures as rest of the batting line up crumbled. The bowlers did a good job in containing the batsman and also taking wickets at the right time. Vijay Singh was the pick of the bowlers with bowling figures of 3/17 in 4 overs followed by 2/18 & 2/14 by Ajay Singh & Amar Mehta. It was a good job by the bowlers & hardly did they give any loose deliveries for the batsman to score.
A target of 113 is not the biggest to chase and especially when it’s the finals of the tournament. Team Chintamani batsman chased the score in style & won the match by 7 wickets & 3.2 overs to spare. It was a shaky start by the top 3 batsman but Mandar Nalavade smashed an aggressive 38 ball 38* to finish the chase for his team in style. Right-handed Mandar remained unbeaten and finished the game in just 16.4 overs for Chintamani. He also got able support from Lokesh Patni who remained unbeaten with 22* off just 16 balls. Paras Shah was the pick of the bowlers taking 2/18 while quickie Virat Mishra also took a wicket.
Chintamani won the finals of the tournament and it was a great team performance & good batting by Mandar who was adjudged ‘man of the match’ for his 38 ball 38* . Cricketgraph congratulates the entire team for their amazing win & wishes that their good form continues for a long long time.
