Sadhvi, Vaishnavi, Akshara exhibit “Glorious” performance against Dahisar Sports Club

Leading from the front, captain of Glorious Cricket Club, Sadhvi Sanjay powered her team to a mammoth 139-run win over Dahisar Sports Club on Thursday in the fourth match of the fifth edition of Late Arjun Madhvi Women’s Trophy in Thane.

Winning the toss and electing to bat first at Central Maidan, Glorious Cricket Club put together 215 runs in 36.3 overs before they were bowled out inside the full quota of 40 overs. Sadhvi, who opened the batting, smashed 79 runs from 76 balls, including a dozen boundaries. She also stitched a crucial 97-run partnership with Sharaddha Shetty (50) for the second wicket to help her side post a respectable score on board. While Muskan Kanojia (3/64) and Sharanya Phadte (2/35) tried to create inroads by picking five wickets between them, they couldn’t stem the free-flow of runs.

In reply, Dahisar Sports Club toppled like nine pins as they were bundled out for a paltry 76 in 26.3 overs. The off-spin twins, Vaishnavi Verma (3/24) and Akshara Pillai (3/7) accounted for six wickets to take the wind out of the opposition’s sails.
