Parag patil Claims 5 As Ambernath Rising Qualify For TPL Semis
After a grueling round of 16 in the Thane Premier League, 8 teams advanced to the quarter finals of the tournament. The first quarter final was played between Ambernath Rising CC and Shivansh CC as the former narrowly edged out the latter. After putting into bat, Ambernath Rising put up a competitive total of 174 in 20 overs for the loss of 9 wickets. Middle order batsmen Shubham Punyarthi (62 off 38) and Prasad Pawar (67 off 38) causing most of the damage forming a crucial partnership of 64 for the 3rd wicket. Left arm spinner Karsh Kothari bowled an economical spell of 2/20 in 4 overs with a maiden.
Shivansh CC lost timely wickets despite top order batsmen getting decent starts. Nikhil Patil’s 38-ball 69 keeping Shivansh CC’s hopes alive but after his dismissal, the team could muster up only 165 as they were bowled out in the final over. Parag Patil’s 5 wicket haul proved to be decisive as well as economical and was named as the Man of the Match for his match-winning spell.
