Parag Khanapurkar’s all-round performance steals a narrow victory from DPC
In a low scoring contest, Dadar Parsee Colony Sports Club and Khar Gymkhana clashed against each other during the Young Comrade Shield. The match was played on December 17 and 18. Khar Gymkhana won the toss and elected to bat.
Batting first, Khar Gymkhana were all out for 179 in 40.1 overs. Despite Hiken Shah (54) and Parag Khanapurkar (50) striking half-centuries, Khar Gymkhana failed to post a formidable score. On the other hand, Dadar Parsee Colony Sports Club’s Yogesh Sawant was the most successful bowler with 36/3.
In reply, Dadar Parsee Colony Sports Club had a horrid day with the bat as they were castled for 124 in 39 overs. They lost the game by 55 runs. Kaustubh Kolambar took the attack to the opposition with a gritty 35 but could not complete the formalities. On the other hand, Khar Gymkhana’s Parag Khanapurkar starred with the ball accounting for 20/3.
