50’s by Kaustubh & Abu Bakr help Elf Blasters win the finals of Emerging Trophy’19

Elf Blasters after opting to bat first posted an impressive total of 271/8 in 40 overs. Kaustubh Thakur played a brilliant knock top scoring for his team with an aggressive knock of 72 runs in 62 balls (5 fours, 3 sixes). Apart from him, a quick half century by Abu Bakr Siddique who scored a 38 ball 52* (5 fours) further accelerated the team towards a good total.
Sanjeevani Cricket Academy chasing 272 runs were reduced to 200 runs all out with Sanket Kashte (38) and Bhushan Talwadekar (35) chipping in with 30’s. The bowlers did an excellent job of keeping the batsman in leash. Abu Bakar with 2/24 and Shubham Pandey with 2/35 were the pick of the bowlers in what was a combined team effort by the Elf Blasters to win the finals by 71 runs and lift the Emerging Trophy Cup.
Kaustubh Thakur for his anchoring knock of 72 runs was declared “man of the match”
The tournament was a good platform for budding youngsters where in lots of Ranji players as well as Mumbai players of various age groups participated in the tournament. In the finals, Vishal Dabholkar was invited as the Chief Guest at the tournament which concluded successfully.
