Opener Vishal Shah turns the tides for Osian’s CC with a scorching 120(53b) in the Gannon Dunkerley Tournament ‘18

Played at the Elf Vengsarkar Oval, Osians CC and Malabar Hill Club took on each other for a crucial clash with Osians CC winning the toss and electing to bat first on the back of their strong batting line up.

Their decision to bat first was completely spot on opener Vishal Shah setting the ground on fire with his enterprising batting smashing a brutal 120 off mere 53balls. Vishal pounced on every bowler in every corner of the ground hitting 12fours and 6sixes at a strike rate of 226.42. Digvijay kathiwada and Aditya Singh also chipped in with crucial 40’s taking the team to a stupendous total of 245/4 in 20overs. Even though all the bowlers went for a thrashing by vishal, Amit Photographer looked good for his 2/29 in 4overs.

Malabar Hill Club gave a really good tough fight with Sandeep Chatwani at the middle order scoring a valiant 28ball 50* which had 7fours and 2sixes. Eventually Malabar Hill Club fell short of 60runs all-rounder Nirav Bheda bowling an impressive spell of 2/19 in 3overs being the pick of the bowlers.

Osians CC won the match by 60runs as Malabar Hill Club were restricted to 186/7 in 20overs while Vishal Shah was declared ‘man of the match’ for his blazing hundred.
