CRIC IT20 Tournament ’18: Aditya Salaskar, Sumeet Shanbaug, Akash and Nadeem star in the opening day of the Tournament

Cric IT T20 Tournament started off with a bang with two matches in its opening day held at the Thakkur Cricket Stadium. Both the matches were lively and full of excitement which a T20 games is all about and this tournament certainly looks like a success. Here are the latest match reports from the 1^st day of the Tournament:

Match 1- Dell EMC Spartans vs Tech Data Smashers

Toss won by- Dell (Bat first)

Batting first Dell made a very competitive total of 157/9 in 20overs with their two batsmen Chinmay Mohite and Adesh Manjrekar top scoring with 30’s. From the bowlers, Aditya Salaskar bowled immaculately well as he came up with stunning bowling figures of 5/25 in 4overs. Aditya was really impressive with the ball as he kept on taking crucial breakthroughs. Chasing 158, Tech Data Smashers were all out for 98/10 in 12.5overs. Dell EMC Spartans won the match by 59runs and Amit Dahiya who scored 20 runs and also took 2wkts was declared ‘man of the match” while Aditya’s fifer was the ‘highlight perfomance of the match’

Match 2- HP Avengers vs IBM

Toss won by- IBM (Bat First)

IBM batting first made a healthy total of 147/9 in 20 overs on the back of their solid openers Nadeem Hamdare and M Kamath. While Nadeem scored an anchoring knock of 43 in 40balls which had 3fours and a six, M Kamath also chipped in with a supportive 40 which did the job for IBM. From the bowlers, Sumeet Shanbag came up with stunning bowling figures of 4/11 in 4overs which made him obviously the pick of the bowlers. Chasing 148, HP Avengers were all out for 117 with Amit Sawant’s 38 being the highest score.  Nignesh Nayak and Vamsi Reddy from IBM came up with match winning bowling perfomance taking 3wkts each. Eventually IBM won the match by 30runs and opener Nadeem was declared ‘man of the match’ for his anchoring knock of 43 at the top of the order.

It was a day when the bowlers really dominated with Aditya and Sumeet bowling really well. However, the opposite teams clinched away victories with their batting.
