Played at the MB Union CC, Cross Maidan, it was a match between two promising teams namely Young Friends CC and New Amrit CC where in New Amrit CC won the toss and elected to bat first expecting the wicket to have some support for the batsman.
Batting first, New Amrit CC scored 178/8d in 41 overs where in middle order batsman Rajas Raut top scored with a 59ball 42. Left-handed Rajas chipped in with a crucial 42 while the rest of the batsman gave starts but could not convert into something substantial. Medium pacer Sanil Patil was the pick of the bowlers taking 3wkts while Sayad Zafar and Rahul Singh took 2wkts each.
Young Friends CC in reply made 176/9 in 43 overs where in the openers gave a flying start but eventually the rest of the batsman faltered. Left-handed Vishal Chacha who opened the innings top scored with a timely knock of 74 off just 88balls. Vishal kept the scoreboard ticking while middle order bat Anant Kamble scored an unbeaten 37*. The bowler who inflicted the maximum damage and was the most impressive was right arm spinner Shubham Taldeokar who scalped 6/42 in 11 overs. Shubham has been bowling really well and this is in fact his 2nd 5wkt haul in the Kanga taking his tally of wickets to 14 in 4matches.
