Ajinkya Belose’s 30ball 51 helps National CC win over Payyade in the finals of the Vijay Manjrekar/ Ramakant Desai T20 Tournament
It was the all important finals between National CC & Payyade Sports Club at Shivaji Park Gymkhana in Mumbai. National CC won the toss & elected to bat first with an aim of making a big one in the 1st innings.
National CC batsman did a good job batting first as they scored 168/7 in 20 overs. When his team was struggling at 60/4, it was Ajinkya Belose who played the guardian angel’s role to perfection as he started playing naturally aggressive cricket right from the word ‘go’. Ajinkya smashed 51 off 30balls and smashed 4fours & 2sixes to take his team out of trouble and help them reach a commendable total. The rest of the batsman also did a good job but could not convert their starts into fifties.
Chasing 169, Payyade SC almost took the game in their favor till the end. The match remained nail biting and exciting till the end where the winner could not be predicted till the end. Payyade SC managed to reach 166/8 in 20 overs losing the match by just 2runs which is quite a narrow margin. The bowlers did a terrific job in the end helping their team win the match.
National CC won the finals of the tournament where Ajinkya was declared ‘man of the match’ for his important half century. Aman Khan from DY Patil was declared the ‘best batsman of the tournament’ while Akhtar Shaikh was selected as the ‘best bowler of the tournament’. Arun Yadav with a string of stunning knocks was declared ‘man of the series’ as the tournament successfully came to an end. Cricketgraph congratulates the winning team & wishes all the players a promising future ahead.
