Karan Nandey scores a match-winning 95 while Aman Khan continues his purple patch with a brutal 34ball 97
Ghatkopar Jets had two matches yesterday where they displayed a contrasting perfomance against Bandra Heroes and Thane Marathas at the Oval ground in Mumbai. The 1st match belonged to the in-form Bandra Heroes where they are just proving unbeatable in the tournament while the 2nd match was capitalized by the defending champions Ghatkopar Jets against the promising Thane Marathas team.
In the first match Thane Marathas managed to make only 119 in 17 overs (3 overs less due to time constraint) which was a mere cakewalk for the powerful Bandra boys. Just like how KKR won over RCB a few days ago where KKR notched up 105 runs in the powerplay itself, Bandra Heroes chased down the score in just 8.5 overs. Right-handed Aman Khan who has hit an altogether different zone smashed yet another brutal 97 off mere 34balls. A few balls more and he could have shared the fastest hundred record with the likes of De Villiers, Afridi & Corey Anderson. Aman’s carnage included 13fours and 6big sixes where he reached his half-century in just 15balls. Bandra Heroes won the match by 8wkts & 8.1 overs to spare while Aman was once again the ‘man of the match’
Back in the evening Ghatkopar Jets faced the promising Thane Marathas & this was the match they knew they had to win to stay strong in the tournament. Once again the start was’nt good where Ghatkopar was suffering at 9/3 until Karan Nandey (8fours, 3sixes) & Prathamesh Pawar notched up a 147run stand just like how Risabh Pant & Sanju Samson had done a few days ago. Right-handed Karan scored 95 off mere 61 balls while left-handed prathamesh brought up his 65 from only 39balls taking their team total to a highly defendable 181/4 in 20 overs. In reply, Thane Marathas were all out for just 143 in 18.3 overs where Vijay Reddy scored a fighting 33 while Yash & Siddarth took 2wkts each.
Ghatkopar jets won the match by 41runs & the 147runs stand between Karan & Prathamesh was certainly the highlight of the match. Cricketgraph congratulates Bandra for their morning win while also congratulates Ghatkopar boys for making a comeback in the evening!
