Jitesh Purabia’s blazing 48 takes Bharti Airtel to a commendable win in the Tata Motors Corporate Championship

It was the crucial knockout (Round 3) match between Bharti Airtel & Vodafone at Air India Sports Club in Kalina, SantaCruz, Mumbai. Bharti Airtel won the toss and elected to bowl first after winning the toss.

Vodafone in reply played amazing cricket as they started counter attacking the bowlers from the world ‘go’. Opener Gajane’s 34 and Subrata’s 9 ball 25 helped the team cross the 100 run mark which played a huge role in having a psychological edge over the opposition. M More was the best bowler for Airtel giving away just 11 runs in 2 overs and also taking 2 wickets followed by Alim S who also gave just 2 runs & also got a wicket in one over he got to bowl.

But Airtel was in a different zone altogether as they chased such a difficult target in just 8.4 overs. It was the aggressive Jitesh Purabia again in the news as he scored a swashbuckling 48*(4 fours,3 sixes) off just 24 balls. Jitesh was thrashing bowlers at will and looked quite confident in his stay which lasted till the end. Jitesh also got good support from no.5 batsman R. Katoch who scored 27* off just 17 balls.

Bharti Airtel won the match and Jitesh Purabia was adjudged ‘man of the match’ for his excellent batting. The whole team will be in a positive momentum and they certainly look poised to win the tournament
