3G Ashok Vihar’s Yashashvi Kataria picks up all 10 wickets against YCC Nawada Junior in a 40-over game
Taking 10 wickets in an innings is nothing less than a dream come true for any cricketer. On January 28, a young fast bowler from Gurgaon achieved his dream when he wrecked havoc with the ball scalping all 10 wickets in an innings. Yashashvi Kataria was the wrecker-in-chief for 3G Ashok Vihar in the match that he played against YCC Nawada Junior at Nawada Cricket Ground in Gurgaon during a 40-over a side match.
Winning the toss and electing to field first, YCC Nawada Junior restricted 3G Ashok Vihar to 177-9 in 40 overs. Opening batter Priyanshu Yadav top scored with 29 runs off 67 balls, including one boundary. YCC Nawada Junior did not have a great day with the ball as they conceded as many as 70 extras. Yash Naharwal was the most successful bowler as he picked up 2-20 in his six overs, including one maiden. Naharwal bowled 29 dot balls in his spell.
In reply, 3G Ashok Vihar bundled out YCC Nawada Junior for a paltry 57 in just 12.2 overs, thanks to Yashashvi Kataria’s heroics with the ball. The 14-year old right arm speedster picked up all 10 wickets in a jiffy. He struck with 10-30 in 6.2 overs, including 29 dot balls. He opened the bowling for 3G Ashok Vihar and made good use of the new ball.
Yashashvi told CricketGraph, “I was very happy to pick up all 10 wickets in the match. My teammates were very supportive right through. I am glad that my hard work paid off. My parents are happy too with my performance. The conditions were neutral and it was important for me to pitch in the right areas. I stuck to my basics and yielded good results.”
