Wheelchair Sports Association Mumbai: Mumbai A vs Mumbai B Report And Highlights
The Wheelchair Sports Association Mumbai organized a cricket game between Mumbai A and Mumbai B on 23rd December. The game witnessed incredible grit and intensity between the two teams. This match was organised by Divyang Vikas Sangh & Mumbai Wheel Chair Cricket Team and was supported by Prof. Vasanthi Kadhiravan, Department Of Physical Education University Of Mumbai. Mr. Nilotpal Mrinal (Disabled Rights Activist & Social Worker) Mr. Santosh Yeram & Mr. Suhas Vichare (Vibagh Sanghatak Maharashtra Navnirman Sena) Mr. Mangesh Malondkar (President Divyang Vikas Sangh) Mr. Lal Bahadur Pushkar (Income Tax Commissioner).
Wheelchair cricket players are 70% to 90% physically challenged, They do batting, bowling & fielding on wheelchairs. The team includes all the players with different disabilities like polio, amputee, spinal cord injuries & cerebral palsy. Few players from the Mumbai team have also played for the Indian Wheelchair Cricket Team. Wheelchair Sports Association Mumbai is Registered Under the Societies Act.1860 & it is affiliated with Wheelchair Cricket India Association who manages the Indian Wheelchair Cricket Team.
Mumbai A won the toss and elected to field first in the T20 game. Batting first, Mumbai B, led by Vishwanath Gurav scored a competitive total of 149 runs losing 7 wickets. The skipper contributing a crucial 69 runs in 48 balls as his teammate Sahil Sayyed scored a handful 28 off 18 balls.
Mumbai A retaliated with an aggressive batting display as they chased down the target in just 10.3 overs. It was the pair of Ganesh Shelar and Santosh Ranjagane who sealed the game for Mumbai A. Ganesh Shelar made 67 off 31 balls while Santosh Ranjagane hammered a 27 ball 62.
After a dominant display, led by Rahul Ramugade, Mumbai A sealed the victory by 7 wickets. For his blasting innings of 67 and 2 quick wickets on his name, Santosh Ranjagane was adjudged as the Man of The Match.
