• The tournament starts 14th December 2019 and concludes by early March 2020 with the presentation to follow immediately thereafter.

• Scoring will be done on the CricHQ application and detailed scores available both on the CricHQ webpage as well as the tournament microsite
• The tournament has been conceived in 3 stages
o Stage 1 – Round Robin Group Stage – where teams in each group will play against one another to determine the group standings.
o Stage 2 – Super Eights – the top 2 teams from each group would qualify for this stage along with 2 lucky losers.
o Stage 3 – Knockouts – played between the top 4 teams from the Super Six stage and designed in an IPL style Semi Final & Eliminator combo which will give the top 2 teams from the Super 6 stage 2 chances to qualify for the Grand Finale.
Qualification Scenario
Round Robin Stage (Stage 1)
Each group will play a Round Robin format with teams being awarded points in the following method
Ø A victory = 3 points
Ø A tie (in case of washout or abandoned game) = 1 point to each team
Ø Bonus Points in addition to points scored thru a clear win
o In case the team batting first wins, they need to win by a margin exceeding 20% of the runs scored by them. (e.g. if team A bats first and scores 100 runs, it needs to restrict or bowl out Team B for less than 80 runs in order to gain the bonus point – if team B manages to reach 80 runs or more in this case, the bonus point would not be awarded.
o In case the team batting second (chasing) wins, they need to score the required number of runs in less than 16 overs. (e.g team A bats firs and scores 100 runs, then team B has to chase down the target of 101 runs in 95 balls or less. If the winning runs are scored of the last ball of the 16th over i.e 96th ball, the bonus point would not be awarded)
Ø At the end of the group stage teams will be ranked based on the number of points. In case 2 or more teams are tied on the same number of points, the Net Run Rate (NRR) would be used to separate them.
Ø The top 2 teams from the Group Stage (each group) will qualify for the Super Eight.
Ø The 2 best 3rd placed teams will join the 6 teams as lucky losers. Super Six Stage
Ø The Super Eight stage is a single standing stage where all 8 teams will play 2 games in a draw which will see them play 2 new teams each.
Ø Points would be awarded in a similar manner as the Stage 1 with points available for victory and bonus scored.
Ø The top 4 teams from this stage will qualify for the Eliminator stage Eliminator Stage
Ø Match 1 – Semi Final – to be played between the top 2 teams from Super Stage – the winner will get a direct entry to the Finals.
Ø Match 2 – Eliminator 1 – to be played between the teams placed 3rd and 4th in the Super Stage – the losing team to be eliminated while the winner to play Eliminator 2
Ø Match 3 – Eliminator 2 – to be played between the winner of Eliminator 1 and loser of Semi Final 1.
Ø Match 4 – Final. To be played between the winner of Semi Final and Eliminator 2.
Rules & Regulations : –
1. The players should all be permanent employees of the architect’s firm only (except in case of the 3 eligible external architects / interior designers) – players from sister concerns / subsidiary company’s / alliance partners will not be eligible to participate. Before the tournament each team will be required to furnish the names of the players representing them on the company letterhead (signed by the HR dept. or a senior authority) – in order to promote a fair playing atmosphere the letters would be available for inspection by all teams. Part time employees working with 2 different organizations will not be eligible to participate. We request all teams to appreciate the reason behind this rule as in the past there have been instances of some teams fielding players from outside and we wish to ensure that our tournament provides a level playing field to all the participants without discrimination or bias.
2. The Acceptance and Entry Forms must be sent on the participating company’s letterhead with certification by an appropriate senior authority of the company. The organizers may request a team to furnish identity cards of the players or equivalent proof of employment.
3. All players will have to wear their respective colored uniforms. Any players not doing so will not be allowed to play the match. Besides it would be compulsory for the batsmen/keepers to wear abdomen guards and all batsmen will have to appear fully kitted with right protective equipment.
4. Although adequate safety precautions have been taken and first aid kits will be available to treat any injuries sustained while playing, we will not be held responsible for any injuries. The players understand and accept that they will be playing at their own risk.
5. No bowler will be allowed to bowl more than four overs. The balls to be used will be the ones provided by the One World of Sports Management. Teams will be allowed to choose from a box of new balls provided by the organizers but teams cannot use any other balls apart from those provided by the organizers. Change of ball during play will be at the sole discretion of the umpires.
6. On the field during play the decision of the umpires would be final and binding on all players.
7. For records, the official match scorer’s notations will be considered as final.
8. A-T20 matches will be played as per the schedule given to the teams
9. The teams must report to the scorer’s desk at least 30 minutes before the scheduled start of the match
10. The bowling side during each innings will have 90 minutes to complete their scheduled quota of 20 overs. In case the bowling side does not begin its 20th over before the completion of the 90th minute the umpire will award 6 extra penalty runs to the batting side per over lost. (The penalty is 6 runs per over short beyond the stipulated time – only those overs which have not been started at the completion of the 90th minute would be considered short). This rule will be applicable in all innings and the decision will be at the sole discretion of the umpires. The umpires will inform/forewarn the captain of the bowling side at the drinks break if they feel that the over rate is slow and can lead to a penalty.
11. A 10 minute break would be allowed to the two sides between change of innings
12. For NO-BALLS standard MCA rules will apply – FREE-HIT will be employed for the tournament
13. Field Restrictions – At no point in time can a team have more than 5 players fielding on the leg side. In case there are more than 5 players on the leg side during a delivery the umpire will be within his rights to call that particular delivery a No-Ball and instruct the captain to change the field to comply with the rules.
14. Power play will be in use for the first 6 overs of every innings.
15. During power play only 2 players will be allowed outside the 30-yard circle while after the power play a minimum of 4 players should be inside the 30 yard circle
16. Special 8th edition rule – a special rule is being introduced which would come into play only for the 8th over of each innings.
a. Batting Bonus – The first six hit by the batting side in the 8th over will result in a bonus of “+8” runs being awarded to the batting side. These bonus runs would not be credited to the batsman but be given as extras. This bonus would only be applicable to the first “6” hit and any subsequent “6s” will not entail any bonus. The bonus would be applied only at the end of the over to the score of the team.
b. Bowling Bonus – The first dismissal effected by the bowling side in the 8th over will result in a penalty of “-8” runs being applied to the batting team’s score. This penalty will be debited to the team score and not to the individual batsman. The penalty will be applied at the end of the over to the score of the team.
c. The Special 8th Edition Rule will only be used for Stage 1 – Round Robin and not for
Stages 2 & 3.
