The Khan Dominance: Young Mohmeddans top the charts of Kanga with a dominating win over Kandivali CA in the Kanga League ‘17
Played at the Bombay High Court SC, Oval Maidan, it was a match between the reigning Young Mohmeddans and the promising Kandivali Cricket Association where in Young Mohmmedans won the toss and elected to bowl first since they have a very strong bowling attack.
Their decision was spot on as they restricted Kandivali CA to just 95/all out. All the spinners took the 10 wkts dominated by the spin spearhead Naushad Khan taking 5/46 in 7.5 overs and followed by 2wkts each by Arsalan and Sandesh. Experienced Naushad Khan with 35wkts along with his fellow spinners have played a major role in their team topping the table. In reply, Young Mohmeddans showed their mettle with the bat too as they declared their innings at 241/4 in 38.3 overs. Dashing batsman Sarfaraz Khan scored an attacking 138 off 129balls which set the tone for the Young Mohmeddan innings. Sarfaraz who smashed 10 fours and a six also did great running between the wickets keeping the scorecard ticking. No.3 Rohan Jadhav also scored 56 off 62balls.
Kandivali CA batted for another 27overs with the loss of 6wkts before the match ended. Naushad Khan took another 5wkts in the 2nd innings making a 10wkt haul in the match. Young Mohmeddans won the match on 1st innings and aLSO top the charts of the Kanga of their division while the talented Sarfaraz with 363runs and the senior Khan- Naushad with 35wkts also top the list in the leading scorers and wicket takers table.
