TATA POWER comfortably wins the league match against TCS in the Tata Inter Company Cricket Tournament
It was the A Division match between two talented teams namely Tata Power & TCS of the Tata Inter Company Tournament. On winning the toss, TCS elected to bat first as the pitch was favorable for batting.
However, it wasn’t the best day in the office for TCS batsman as they were bundled out for just 108/6 in 20 overs. The bowlers did a good job on a batting wicket like Fort Vijay & contained the batsman. Rohit Sharma & Amit Sonawane were the leading scorers with the scores of 40 & 30 respectively. Abul Kalam was the pick of the bowlers as he took 2/16 in 4 overs. The rest of the bowlers also succeeded in containing the batsman. There were as many as 3 run-outs in the TCS innings which proved the opposition was also doing tight fielding.
Chasing 109, Tata Power completed the chase in just 13.4 overs with openers Rohan Bane (20 off 11) & Nishit Shetty (28* off 29balls) giving a solid start. Right-handed Nikhil Patil scored a wonderful half century coming in at no.3 to finish the game in style. Nikhil scored 51* off 35 balls (7 fours) & played the role of finisher to perfection.
