Spinner Yuvang Shah Sizzles with ball as GEBS wins the finals against Lupin in the JD Sports Tournament
It was the all important finals between two promising teams namely GEBS & Lupin at the Sassanian Ground at Azad Maidan in Mumbai. GEBS won the toss & elected to bat first with an aim of making a big score in the 1st innings.
Batting first, GEBS made the full use of batting first as they posted a competitive total of 157/6 in 20 overs which is always a defendable score. Sunil Yadav was the highest scorer smashing 39* off just 28 balls followed by 38 off 28 by Yuvang and quick 20s by Darshan & Tausif. The bowlers could have done a better job of restricting the batsman to a score below 150 but almost every batsman contributed in their capacity which helped them cross the 150run mark.
Chasing 158, Lupin were all- out for 100/10 in 15 overs and it was some amazing display of bowling. Right-arm off spinner Yuvang Shah bowled one of the finest spells in the recent times scalping 5wkts while giving away only 6runs in his 2.4 overs. What’s more his hat-trick in the 3rd over proved to be a game changer. Manoj soni was also terrific as he did not gave a single run in his 2 overs while taking 2 wkts( 2overs, 0/2). It was a match where GEBS players did a great team work to win the all important finals of the JD Sports Tournament by 57 runs.
Yuvang Shah was declared ‘man of the match’ while Saurabh Tripathy was declared ‘man of the series”. Cricketgraph congratulates Yuvang and the whole team and wishes them luck for a great year ahead.
