Smin Kini’s 81* helps GPCC crush Yuva Multi Sports by 164 runs
GPCC’s Smin Kini oozed class with an unconquered 81 against Yuva Multi Sports during the MD Memorial Cup U14 Cricket Tournament. The two teams locked horns against each other on February 2 at Azad Maidan, Mumbai.
Winning the toss and electing to bat first, GPCC piled up a total of 283/6 in 40 overs. Smin Kini top-scored with a blistering 81 not out off 67 balls. His innings was laced with six boundaries and a six. Purnay Nandgaonkar (57) too made a valuable contribution with the bat for GPCC. For Yuva Multi Sports, Nimit Behere was the pick of the bowlers with 52/3 in eight overs.
In reply, Yuva Multi Sports were restricted to a paltry 119/7 in 40 overs and lost the match by 164 runs. Adhiraj Sathe (39) was the lone warrior in the fight for Yuva Multi Sports. On the other hand, GPCC had a good outing with the ball. Seven of the nine bowlers used by GPCC claimed one wicket apiece.
Smin Kini won the player of the match award for his brilliant batting performance.
