Shubham Shinde’s Gritty 108 & Likhit’s 6 wkts steers SPG to a commanding win in the U14 Ajit Naik Tournament ‘18
U14 SPG batting first at Shivaji Ground were in a strong position declaring their innings at 342/4 in 78 overs. Opening the innings, captain Raj Desmukh played a scintillating knock of 88 runs in mere 77 balls (12 fours, 1 six) which set the positive tone for the innings. The talented Shubham Shinde who came at no.3 capitalized on the good start left behind their skipper as he scored an anchoring knock of 108*(185 balls). Shubham toiled hard between the wickets smashing only 6 boundaries while displayed rock solid technique and resistance at the crease. He also got good support from Pratik Konkar (60 runs) as SPG declared their innings with a defendable total on the board.
Mahim Juvenile in return suffered a severe collapse as they were all out by 50 runs. All thanks to the duo of SPG’s medium pacers Likhit Kadam and Palav Dandekar. Likhit was spot on with the ball coming up with envious bowling figures of 6/13 in 9.5 overs while Palav bagged 4 wkts for 11 runs helping SPG win by a massive margin of 292 runs.
