Shivam Chaudhary’s Ton Secures Victory For The Indian Railways In Vijay Hazare
After an impressive Syed Mushtaq Ali, ace batsmen Shivam Chaudhary carried his form to the Vijay Hazare Trophy as he scored a match-winning century. An incredible team effort by the Indian Railways helped them win their second league game against Pondicherry. Batting first, Pondicherry scored a competitive total of 289 in 50 overs. Paras Dogra hammered an incredible ton and was well supported by Arun Karthik (80 off 109). For the Railways, the pick of the bowler being Susheel Kumar by picking up 4 wickets in his 10 overs.
Chasing a stiff target, Vivek Singh and Shivam notched up an opening partnership of 56. Chaudhary and wicketkeeper Upendra Yadav (61 off 65) partnered up for century partnership. Shivam ended up with 115 to his name. A late flourish of shots by Shubham Choubey (36 off 23) impacted the run chase. With a collective batting effort, the Indian Railways were able to chase down the target in the final over of the game winning it by just 3 wickets in hand.
