She Was Told Cricket Isn’t for Girls—Now She’s Proving Everyone Wrong!
As young girls, how many of us were encouraged to play cricket? To step onto the field, take a swing, and feel the rush of hitting a boundary? For most, the answer is simple, we weren’t.
But for Ami, a 14-year-old young girl with a brave heart and a will to break all barriers, hailing from Govandi, an underserved community in the suburbs of Mumbai, things are changing.
Who is Ami?
Ami is a participant in The Right Pitch, she grew up in an underserved community of Mumbai, where girls were expected to stay inside. Cricket wasn’t part of her story, in fact it was unimaginable. But through TRP, Ami not only learned to play the game but discovered her confidence, her strength, and her voice. Her journey with The Right Pitch has changed her family’s perspective. “I was hesitant at first,” says her father. “But now, when I see her play, I am so proud of her.” And it’s not just Ami. 50% of our TRP students are young girls who are challenging stereotypes and proving that cricket isn’t just a game for boys. It’s a platform for confidence, leadership, and dreaming bigger. With your support, we can support more girls like Ami. For just ₹55,000, you can:
